國防地段 DL（Defence Lot）1997年 – 現在
香港的軍事用地，於1997年後從之前英軍所使用的「國防地段 Ministry of Defence Lot（ M.O.D.L.）」改稱爲 「國防地段 Defence Lot （D.L.）」。1994年11月，中央政府與英國政府簽署了《大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯合王國政府與中華人民共和國政府就香港軍事用地的未來使用安排訂立的互換照會》”(Exchange of Notes between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the Arrangements for the Future Use of the Military Sites in Hong Kong)，當中載有於1997年後供香港駐軍使用的軍事地段。土地的安排如下：
- 英國政府把 14幅面積合共 2,751公頃的軍事用地，無償移交中央政府，以供駐軍部隊自 1997年7月1 日起將有關用地完全用於防務目的；
- 為照顧香港社會及經濟發展的需要，英國政府把 25幅面積合共139公頃、無須再用於防務目的的軍事用地，無償移交香港政府處理；及
- 因交還 25幅軍事用地給香港政府處理而須重建 5幢軍用建築物及固定設施。
